The Truth About Lies
The results of a recent UK survey documenting peoples lying habits have been made public this week by the Science Museum, who are launching a gallery called “Who am I?”, an exhibition which makes sense of brain science, genetics and human behaviour.
In a poll of 3,000 people, researchers found that the average British man tells three lies every day, or 1,092 a year. By comparison, the average woman only tells lies around twice a day, or 728 times a year. Not only did the survey comprehensively reveal that men are more likely to tell lies than women, but that they felt less guilty about doing so.
Here is a list of the top ten lies given by men and women respectively:

Katie Maggs, associate medical curator at the Science Museum, told the BBC: “Lying may seem to be an unavoidable part of human nature but it’s an important part of social interaction.” The results were inconclusive as to whether lying is a result of our genes, evolution or our upbringing.
